Together We’ll Make the Holidays Brighter for Idaho Foster Families
On Friday, December 18 we presented Giving Tree cash and gift donations totaling more than $6000 to Jonathan Wakeman and Samatha Ockerman, VISTA volunteers with Idaho’s One Church one Child organization.
One Church One Child (OCOC) is a partnership between the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, communities of faith, and other invested partners working together to improve outcomes for children in Idaho. With a particular focus upon foster children, OCOC works to build a natural community support system for all children and their families.
Coleman Homes collected the unwrapped gifts and monetary donations at our communities in Meridian, Eagle, Middleton, Nampa, and Kuna between December 2 and 16. Wakeman said every dollar gathered and gift received will directly benefit Idaho foster children and their families this holiday season.
Donations like the one from Coleman Homes make a big difference to their organization, Wakeman said. “There are over 600 foster kids living in 250 homes throughout Idaho. These families make a heroic effort to provide every kid with love and encouragement, and they couldn’t do it without community support like this. We’re really grateful for the generosity,” he added.
“We’re blessed to have this chance to give back to our community in such a tangible way,” said Coleman Homes Sales Operations Manager Teresa Andolfi. “Our thanks go out to all the friends and partners who joined with us to give this year. We’re so glad to know that Christmas will be a little happier for some foster kids and their families.”
Thank you so much to all our friends, vendor partners, Coleman homeowners, community members, and Coleman Homes employees who contributed to the Giving Tree to help make this holiday season bright for Idaho’s foster children!
